Default Arrow (Green Arrow TV Series)

The WB is developing a new television series based on the DC comic hero Green Arrow. If memory serves me correct, the character had appeared on SMALLVILLE.

The new show is simply titled ARROW, and here's some news from Dark Horizons:
Stephen Amell has been cast as the DC Comics character Green Arrow in the CW drama pilot "Arrow" for Warner Bros. TV.

Amell will play Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology.

The buff Amell has served as a recurring actor on numerous shows including "Hung," "Private Practive," "The Vampire Diaries" and "90210" as well as being one of the finalists for the lead on "Spartacus".

I'll look forward to this. Green Arrow is a cool character and, hey, his girlfriend is martial arts heroine, Dinah Lance aka the Black Canary! If she's incorporated into the show (especially wearing those fishnet stockings) viewership shouldn't be a problem.

Thank goodness it won't be another teen drama show.

GA doesn't have too many villains of his own but there's a slew of them to choose from in the DC realm. Of course, I'm sure the studio will be inventing characters.

First photo of Stephen Amell as Arrow

and ShaOWill, Dinah Lance is in the series. Katie Cassidy is playing her in the pilot TV-movie that is currently in production. Darren Shahlavi is also listed in the cast, maybe as a villain? Who knows.

Could be a very good series, I don't think it will be anywhere on the level as Smallville was.

Here's a link to the trailer. This is looking pretty cool to me. I'm even seeing a little MA in here.
